A little clarification regarding some blogs

IPKat team member Jeremy is involved, one way or another, in quite a few weblogs which deal in whole or part with intellectual property. Since some readers have occasionally confused these blogs, or have sent the IPKat material that was properly destined for one of the other blogs, Jeremy is taking the opportunity to list them below.

The 1709 Blog caters for the copyright enthusiast. With input from a panel of guest bloggers plus a team of regulars, this weblog offers coverage of all aspects of copyright law (http://the1709blog.blogspot.com/)

The SPC Blog is a handy information source for anyone who is involved in the tiny but invaluable world of supplementary protection certificates for patents (http://thespcblog.blogspot.com/). This weblog is supported by a set of SPC resources at http://thespcblog2.blogspot.com/)

PatLit tackles a wide range of patent dispute resolution topics, not just from the UK but from wherever interesting news and comments emerge (http://patlit.blogspot.com/)

IP Finance touches that delicate interface between intellectual property and the world of finance, addressing securitisation, valuation, royalty rates, assessment of damages and the evolution of new business plans. It also currently carries a series of posts by Neil Wilkof dedicated to the business dimensions of IP licensing (http://ipfinance.blogspot.com/)

Fashionista-at-law is not confined to intellectual property but sheds light on all aspects of one of the world's most conspicuous and eye-catching sectors (http://fashionistaatlaw.blogspot.com/)

Class 46, founded by friends of MARQUES -- the association of European trade mark proprietors -- and driven by a 10-strong team, this blog delivers trade mark and brand-related news and developments from across Europe (http://class46.eu/). By the end of this week this weblog will have been "adopted" by MARQUES

Datonomy focuses on the tensions between personal data regulation, the rights of individual data subjects and the needs of commercial and public data users (http://datonomy.blogspot.com/)

Class 99 (which is unconnected with Class 46, being named for the old "miscellaneous" Class 99 of the Locarno design classification). This is a weblog for design enthusiasts, whether from Europe or the rest of the world (http://class-99.blogspot.com/)

There are two regional weblogs which cover IP activity. The first is Afro-IP (http://afro-ip.blogspot.com/), which deals with the IP scene in Africa, while the bilingual IP Tango blog (http://iptango.blogspot.com/) seeks to do the same for Latin America.

Finally SOLO IP (http://soloip.blogspot.com/) provides some occasional solace and support for practitioners in IP who work all by themselves, or feel as though they do.

  1. The url for solip.blogspot.com in your post needs correction.

There's an extra space between solip. and blogspot which has to go as it is otherwise showing as invalid url.

All comments must be moderated by a member of the IPKat team before they appear on the blog. Comments will not be allowed if the contravene the IPKat policy that readers' comments should not be obscene or defamatory; they should not consist of ad hominem attacks on members of the blog team or other comment-posters and they should make a constructive contribution to the discussion of the post on which they purport to comment.

It is also the IPKat policy that comments should not be made completely anonymously, and users should use a consistent name or pseudonym (which should not itself be defamatory or obscene, or that of another real person), either in the "identity" field, or at the beginning of the comment. Current practice is to, however, allow a limited number of comments that contravene this policy, provided that the comment has a high degree of relevance and the comment chain does not become too difficult to follow.
